"Grief is interesting. It doesn’t have an expiration date—grief does not curdle in your mouth like sour milk held on the tongue for too long—but that doesn't make it any easier to swallow."

REFLECTIONS THROUGH SILVER & SAND

"I used to struggle staring back at my own reflection. Now I embrace the wisdom of silver & sand. Follow my journey as I write through grief and loss and coming back to self."

Sarah is both Indigenous and settler and writes through an intersectional lens that explores identity, belonging, grief and even moments of laughter and joy. She hopes that by being unapologetic with her words, she might help others feel more at home in the complexity of emotions that we all experience.

Sarah creates on the traditional, ancestral and unceded territory of Sinixt Peoples. She makes this acknowledgment to show her respect for the təmxʷulaʔxʷ (homeland), and Sinixt Nation. Sarah feels privileged and grateful to be here, and invites those reading this to explore their own relationship to place.
